Book Summary:

Ariella was only looking for a distraction, something to break up the monotony of palace life. What she found was a young man willing to overlook her title and show her a new and vibrant way of life. But when her growing feelings for Gavin spiral out of control and clash with the expectations of her station, she will discover that the consequences of her curiosity are far more severe than she’d imagined.

I really wanted to give this five stars…but I couldn’t. The reasons I couldn’t started with some issues I had with the design of the book and proofreading errors. Those distracted me from the beginning. That could be why at first I just couldn’t get into the book. But, about 70 pages into the book, I finally got into it. After that I loved it, struggled to put it down, and thought about it even when I wasn’t reading it. I really love this book and can’t wait to read the others in the series. Ella and Gavin and their story had depth and breadth and really drew me into their world. I think many of us at some time or other don’t feel like we quite fit in. I think this is one of the things that helped me relate to Ella. I loved this book. And when I looked at the author’s website under extras, I saw a scene from the book told from Gavin’s point of view. That was a fun extra to find.

Rating: 4.5 Stars – Highly Recommend

  1. It always disappoints me when grammatical/etc. errors keep me from fully enjoying a book. I’m sorry this was the case, but it’s great that you ended up enjoying it so much.

    Nice review!
