Book Review: Adrenaline Rush by Cindy M. Hogan

Adrenaline RushTitle: Adrenaline Rush

Author: Cindy M. Hogan

Series: Christy #1 (but reads as a stand alone)

Released: October 18, 2013

Book Summary:

A madman with a mission is kidnapping groups of thrill-seeking high school seniors across the country, and it’s up to Christy to stop him.

To do so, she must take on a fearless alter ego and infiltrate a group of adrenaline junkies bent on pushing life to the limit. Death-defying stunts are only the beginning: two groups fit the profile, and Christy must discover the real target before it’s too late.

If she chooses the wrong group, more people will disappear. But choosing right puts her as the prime target—with no guarantee that she’ll get out alive.

This is a very well written story. Cindy is a great writer and the fact that I stuck with this book is proof of that. My issue with this book had nothing to do with the writing.   I had a hard time relating to some of the characters and story line. This is a group of adrenaline junkies who are kidnapped by a crazy man. I didn’t love reading about some of the things that happened and skimmed several chapters. Once I was half way in I was hooked and really enjoyed it but the first half of this story was tough for me to get through.

While I do enjoy a good mystery/thriller I admit this isn’t my favorite genre. Those who do love a good thriller will likely enjoy this story.  As soon as I finished this book I did start the next one in the series Hotwire. I’m enjoying it much more.
