A sweet, contemporary romance.
More than kisses, letters mingle souls. John Donne
Sabrina is thrilled to return to the island where she spent so many summers as a child. Here she can forget the episode that nearly got her kicked out of college. Tybee Island is the last place she expects to meet the one person who has intimate knowledge of the worst moment of her life.
Meredith comes to the island for peace and quiet – two things he needs to complete his next bestseller. Unfortunately, his plan is rudely interrupted by the appearance of Sabrina. He can’t seem to elude this puzzling woman who is always in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Will the unexpected reunion of Sabrina and Meredith finally reveal the secrets surrounding the love letter?
Due to my love for my Kindle and the fact that being a book blogger means I get sent an overwhelming number of books to review, I don’t get to the library very often any more. I miss browsing the shelves so my substitution is once a month I browse through Amazon Prime’s Free ebooks and pick one that looks like something I would like. A random title I know nothing about that has a cover that catches my eye.
Last month the title I choose was The Love Letter. The only thing I read of the book summary was “A sweet, contemporary romance. More than kisses, letters mingle souls.” (Have I mentioned I hate reading book summaries because most authors give away way to much of the plot in their summaries). Once again not having read the summary served me well. Had I read it I would have gone into this book with different expectations. Instead I was went in blind and the story unfolded without me guessing where it was headed. That really worked well for this book.
There was one character in this story I didn’t like at all until almost the end of the story. In fact I wished this character would just go away. I was impressed that by the end of the story the author was able to sway my opinion of this person.
This was a book I stayed up way too late reading because I didn’t want to put it down.
