Alisas review

I just finished Dreaming of Ivy and loved it! This is my first book I have ever read in any of the Fircrest series… After reading a book by this author which a lot of people loved but I pretty much hated, I had sworn off all her books so I hadn’t read any of the Fircrest books. I could tell by the writing that there was a lot of history between certain characters that I wasn’t getting because I jumped in at the end, but overall I felt like it was a stand-alone book! (After reading this book I did go back and read Book 1 in this series “Falling for Rayne” to get more of the back story on these characters – and I absolutely loved that book, too!)

I loved how Becket doesn’t say a whole lot, but he means what he says 100%. He reminds me of a Marine I once knew in college. And I loved Ivy… I love how she is trying to heal and be better. She could easily slip back into an easier life (she can afford it after all), but she wants to be healed and to feel whole. She is so courageous and keeps going!

We get a hint of who might be behind the attacks on Ivy, but I’m not sure if that is or isn’t a red herring so I will be interested to see how that all resolves in the third book.

Asher came across as a spoiled, lazy kid in this book — but I thought his character added a dimension to the book. I will definitely be interested in the next book to see how the business arrangement between Garrett/Becket/Asher plays out. I would love to see the right girl come along and “unspoil” Asher! I think he has a lot of potential, but he will have to dig deep to become that man, and I think that would make a great book!

My real question after reading this book is: Who is the next book about? Tai and Cleo or Asher? I can’t wait for the third book to come out…

  1. Love this series! The next book is Cleo’s, not sure yet who the main squeeze will be though. Shannon likes to keep us guessing. 😉
