Book Summary:

He is a prince and heir to a kingdom threatened on all sides, possessor of the forbidden animal magic.

She is a princess from a rival kingdom, the daughter her father never wanted, isolated from all except her hound.

In this lush and beautifully written fairy-tale romance, a prince, a princess, and two kingdoms are joined in the aftermath of a war. Proud, stubborn, and bound to marry for duty, George and Beatrice will steal your heart—but will they fall in love?

This was my second time reading this book, and I still love it. The world, the magic, the characters, all are so masterfully crafted. I remembered a lot of what was coming, so the surprises from the first read didn’t have as much impact, but it was still delightful to reread. On a side note, I love the cover. It is beautiful and I think it does a wonderful job of capturing the essence of the book.
I think the depth of character, especially of Prince George, is one of the things about this book that really draws me in. This is also a book where I can marvel at the beauty of the writing itself. This book has depth. It has some adventure. It has love. It is wonderful!
Rating: 4.5 stars – Highly Recommend
Content: A few swear words, female dogs referred to by word that is also used as a swear word, some violence
