Enchantress of LThe Enchantress of Lynniah

Have you ever come across a vain, impetuous little creature called a Mandie, and had to quickly dodge one of her poisonous darts? Well, with all of that, along with evil Nymphs and blood thirsty Banelorgs – these are things you’ve only likely experienced if you’ve had a nice long visit to Lynniah.

 INTERVIEW

1. If you could invite any 5 people to dinner, who would you choose? J.K. Rowling, J.R.R Tolkien, Jane Austen, Cate Blanchett, and Tim Curry.

2. What inspired you to want to become a writer?

All the voices in my head…ha, ha. Just kidding – but, honestly, all the characters and story ideas that are constantly popping in my head. I also will have spontaneous scenes of dialogue run through my mind from time to time…I don’t know if that makes me schizo or what, but I decided I should probably start to write these things down, lol.

3. If you could jump into a book and live in that world, which would it be?

Hmm…that’s a toss up between attending Hogwarts, or becoming an elf in Middle Earth…

4. What’s a piece of advice you would give to aspiring writers?

If you feel like writing is what you are meant to be doing, just do it. Don’t let the fears of other people’s opinions or feelings of self doubt get in your way. I let that stop me for years and I wish I would have started my novel ten years earlier than I did. Live your passion, it’s important.

5. When you were little, what did you want to be when you ‘grew up’?

Well, I hope I never grow up, but when I was little I dreamed of becoming an actress. I practiced accents, wrote and performed mock radio station programs with my siblings, acted out scenes in movies, dressing up like my favorite movie characters using random things from around the house, and made silly short movies with my teenage friends.

6. If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play the lead role, and why?

Cate Blanchett. Not just because I love her and she shares the same birthday as me, but because she’s the only artist eclectic and talented enough with enough dramatic range to portray my drama-filled life, ha, ha.

7. Who are your favorite authors of all time?

J.R.R Tolken, J.K. Rowling, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, and Elizabeth Gaskell

8. What do you do in your free time?

Read, sew costumes, make jewelry, camp, hike, fish, wake-board, watch football, & run/exercise.

9. Can you see yourself in any of your characters?

I like to think I’m a bit like Corrah, but I didn’t pattern her after me. I am extremely stubborn and when I make my mind up to do something there is no stopping me – and I did give her that quality.

10. Any other books in the works?

Yes, I have started two other books. One is a book about fairies, called Lack of Luster, A Fairy’s Tale, and the other one is yet to be named, but it’s kind of a paranormal mystery.

11. Pet peeves?

When people don’t put their shopping cart back – seriously, how hard is that? Bad drivers – because I suffer from extreme road rage, ha ha. When people are inconsiderate. When people who are not handicapped park in handicapped parking. Closed-mindedness

12. If you could have any super power what would it be?

Invisibility. Wouldn’t it be lovely to be a fly on the wall in certain interesting places? I say yes.

15. If you were a super hero, what would your kryptonite be?

Hint of lime chips with salsa

16. What’s your favorite season/weather?

Fall and Spring. I enjoy a good rainy day sometimes.

17. Favorite food?

Sushi

18. If you could choose only one time period and place to live, when and where would you live and why?

The regency era in England, because I love the style and the feeling of that age.
