VL. Virgin Lips. You may not have heard of it, but where I live, it’s a thing with a card, even if it is a figurative card. I was Brooklyn Hamlin, certified virgin lips, and I planned on clinging to that figurative card with all I had–while dating as many of the hottest guys at school as I could.
Maybe that’s a bit strange. I mean, what teenage girl isn’t interested in kissing? Locking lips definitely interested me, but the drama that came with it didn’t. No kissing, no drama. Simple.
But on my sixteenth birthday, on my first real date even, the drama found me. His name was Luke Graham–cute, funny, and bad news for the whole female race.
This is a quick on sitting read. I’ve read Cindy’s book Watched and saw this as an Amazon Freebie so I grabbed a copy and read it quickly. It’s a cute story.
The main character is LDS living in Utah. She has very high standards and tries to follow all the rules. Those not familiar with the Mormon religion may not get this book. Those who are will probably be able to appreciate her thought process as she turns 16 and is headed on her first date.
Reading it made me realize I was grateful to no longer be a teenager and have to worry about being asked out, friends, dates, kisses, dances, etc. There were a few too many of her friends introduced in the few pages of this book which left me feeling a little lost as to who everyone was but otherwise it’s a fun glimpse into the workings of a teenage mind. I will pick up the 2nd book Stolen Kiss and read it.
