Banned Books Week Giveaway Hop – banned Book of Choice or Amazon Gift Card

Announcing the 3rd Annual Banned Books Week Giveaway Hop

Hosted by BookHounds & I Am A Reader, Not A Writer

September 22nd to September 28th

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read.

I consider myself to be a pretty conservative reader and I admit there are many books on this Top 100 Banned Books list that I will never read. They just aren’t for me. I’ve stated my opinion before and is has not changed: All books have their place, but not all books belong on every shelf.  Some books are just not appropriate for children, tween & teens and as a parent we have the right and responsibility to protect our children.

For the top 10 Challenged books for each year this past decade visit:

My Giveaway:
My giveaway will be a $15 Amazon Gift card so the winner can purchase a banned book of their choice. Alternately if the winner is International and prefers I can purchase a banned book for them from The Book Depository (up to $15).

Each of these blogs is hosting a giveaway as part of this hop.  A HUGE thanks to Mary from Bookhounds for running this hop!

  1. I love the “Banned Books” giveaway! It reminded me of the books I had read as “required reading” when I was in school in the 1950’s and 1860’s that are on the list today! Why is it that our society is in the position or going backward instead of forward by deciding for us what books we should be reaing?

  2. Thank you for the giveaway <3 Actually I have read like 3 books from that 2012 top ten challenged books, and I didn't think they'd end up there. Banned books or not, I'd still read them if I want to.

  3. Thanks for this giveaway!

  4. Thanks for sharing the hop and your giveaway. evamillien at gmail dot com

  7. Thanks so much for this giveaway!

  8. Banned books have taken me on so many adventures. What would we do without them?
