Book Summary:
Fourteen-year-old Dean Curse is still having horrifying visions of people in grave danger – visions that leave him a single day to save their lives. So far, he’s considered a few broken bones and a standing appointment in group therapy to be a small sacrifice compared to the good he’s done.

While learning more about the mysterious society that gave him the gift, Dean has a vision that leads him to believe a monk is going to rob a museum—if he’s right, the robbery will go very badly. But he can’t get the police to believe him. In fact, the authorities think Dean is at the root of all the trouble. Dean and his friends decide the only way to save a few lives is to take matters into their own hands, even if it means breaking a few laws. They have 24 hours to decide if the ends really do justify the means.

 Ebonis review
I think it’s safe to say that I was more than excited to get my hands on this book. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and dropped all my scheduled reads to get to this one.
I’m just going to jump right into this.
Second time’s the charm with book number two in the Dean Curse Chronicles. The stakes are higher, the plot is more intense, and the characters are just as amazing. I’ve fallen in love with the characters of this book (even the bullies). They are all so uniquely craved and molded…I think I like them more than my real-life friends.
One thing that I always envied about Steven Whibley is his uncanny ability to mix reality with fantasy. Things that you never believed possible instantly become real as soon as you start reading. Now it might seem like a hard feat to write a book about teens saving lives. This was done flawlessly. The plot and characters were believable and humorous, mixing both real life and fantasy problems into one story.
I’m not in the middle-grade age range, but I loved this book regardless. It was incredibly entertaining, yet humorous and exhilarating. It makes you just want to jump right into the book, join Dean’s gang, and watch them save the world.
