TMI by Patty Blount

pattyAuthor Patty Blount

Patty Blount writes instruction guides by day and novels by night. On a dare by her oldest son, she wrote her first novel in an ice rink. Though never published, Penalty Killer was the subject of so many seventh grade book reports, the English teacher requested a copy and later returned it, covered in red ink. Patty is always looking for great story ideas. Her debut novel, Send, was conceived after her boss suggested she learn about social networks. Patty lives on Long Island with her family, a fish, and lots of books.

Twilight though my favorite vampire story ever is Nora Roberts’ Valley of Silence.

Favorite Literary Characters

I have a mad crush on Roarke from the JD Robb books. I wish I were half as tough as Eve Dallas.

I also have a mad crush on assassin Avery Cates, though he’s not the least bit romantic.

Hermione Granger for showing girls smart is cool.

Adam from Where She Went

Things That Inspire You

Okay, this is going to sound morbid, but death inspires me. I lost my mom last year to breast cancer. In one of her last lucid moments, she’d cried that she thought she’d have more time to do the things she’d always wanted to do. I’m not going to let that happen to me. When people find out I’m a writer, they usually say, “I always wanted to write a book but just don’t have the time.” Well, I make the time to do the things that matter most to me. I won’t die with regrets.

Places You Would Most Want to Travel To

I have always wanted to go to Italy. I don’t even have a passport so someday, I’d like to go to Europe.

Favorite Snacks

If it has chocolate, I’ll love it. My favorite are Hershey Kisses but I also love buffalo wings and nacho dip.

Favorite Movies/TV Shows

I really love Airplane! And Young Frankenstein. I’ve seen both a few dozen times and still find new things to laugh at. My favorite TV show used to be The X-Files and after that ended, I got hooked on Supernatural. I’m working on a story now that’s based on Supernatural and even has a cool car. But the thing that really drives my family crazy is my total devotion to BAD movies on SyFy like Jersey Shore Shark Attack or Sharknado. I find them hilarious.
