~~Who I am is not important but what I leave behind is~~ © 2013 Camelia Miron Skiba
I’m a dreamer
I’m a sinner
I love my books
I conjure hooks
And heroes with good looks
Romance is my guilty pleasure
Taking me to places with new decor
Come join me if you dare
I promise not to bore
If you like to read my stories
Pray my husband continues snorin’
For he’s the one who keeps me up at night
When I give my heroes wings and flight.
From caterpillar to butterfly
Passions. That’s what we are made of: passion for music, passion for books, passion for painting/writing/dancing/scrapbooking/cooking, passion for love, passion for life. We are here to experience it all, some more than others, but in the end there is a fire inside each one of us that drives us toward finding exactly that: our passion.
In the process to find it we discover ourselves. And the more we explore the more we find out about ourselves. Who we were a year ago, a month or a day, heck even yesterday we are no longer today. We evolve. Day after day our life/emotions/feelings/experiences mold us into the person we become carrying our past, savoring the present and embracing the future.
I know who I was yesterday: a woman who immigrated from Romania to the US, following my heart and the man who stole it (yes, he still gets “punished” for it).
I know who I am today: an author having the time of my life with my imaginary friends, voices of unknown heroes telling me webs of untold stories.
But I don’t know who I’ll be tomorrow. And honestly I don’t want to know because knowing takes away from the thrill and the experience and I want to be as aware and awake as possible to feel that very moment when I’ll become tomorrow.
Legend has it … centuries after Spartacus another hero is born—Ilias, the bastard son of King Decebalus. Thirsty for revenge and eager to unshackle the Roman oppression, Ilias’ obsession to fulfill his oath has no bounds, even if that means kidnapping Nerva, the beloved daughter of Emperor Traianus. What he doesn’t know is his own heart threatens to betray his conscience.
What will prevail: his mind or his heart?
Loathing the thought of his beloved Oriana in the arms of another man, fearless Zyraxes delivers death upon the Roman enemy. With only the rugged land as his bed and the sky as his blanket, trouble finds him often.
Summoned to aid Oriana’s father in the war against two powerful enemies—one of them Oriana’s savage husband—Zyraxes proves himself worthy of more than just noble titles and coin. But he wants none of it. What he wants is her.
When Zyraxes discovers a broken and nearly dead Oriana, though forbidden, he disregards her father’s orders to leave her to her death, and instead chooses to protect and conceal her. Will saving her be enough to win her heart? Will his part royal lineage make him worthy of her love?
