This gorgeous illustrated picture book features a brand-new My Little Pony underwater adventure, and includes an exclusive art poster!
When Twilight Sparkle receives an invitation to visit the underwater city of Aquastria, she invites all her pony friends and Spike to travel with her. The ponies are welcomed by the ruler of Aquastria, King Leo, who sits on the Cosmic Council alongside his cousin, Princess Celestia. There is a long-held rivalry between the seaponies and the mermares. The two groups compete each year in a race for the grand prize, which is a beautiful pearl. Join the ponies and Spike as they confront danger, make new friends and race to the finish in this shimmering new world!

I’m really not a huge fan of most picture books that are based on children’s toys and movies.  I find most of them to be painful to read and poorly done.  However I have a daughter that is drawn towards these stories so I asked for a review copy of this latest My Little Pony story figuring she would love it.

The story starts off with an invitation from King Leo Ruler of Aquastria for the ponies to visit the underwater Annual Aquastria Race.  While there they learn the lesson that helping a friend is more important than winning a race.

The illustrations in this book are beautifully done.  Much better than any I remember seeing in this type of a picture book.  In the back of the book is a small poster that pulls out which my daughter claimed for her bedroom wall.

The text of the book was a little longer than most picture books.  My daughter is 7 and starting to out grow playing with My Little Ponies.  They were a favorite for the past few years.  I doubt she would have sat through this book when she was 4 or 5 but it was the perfect length for her right now.

Rating: 3.5 Stars – Good Book

My daughter is 11 and I think she would love this book! She just packed up all of her plastic My Little Ponies and bought the pony from Build A Bear. She loves her ponies! Thanks for the review!

  2. This sounds like a cute, fun book to read for mothers with kids to entertain. I have also found an amazing “Bella’s Ball ebook “ !! While I am just searching about Children’s Books. I found Bella’s Ball to be such a cute read, Bella’s Ball is an inspiring tale of one beautiful and magnificent butterfly named Bella. When the time arrives for the Flutterfly Ball, Bella’s friends encourage her to enter the fluttering contest. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks Bella is flutter material, including Bella herself. Can she find the courage she needs to enter the ball? I think a lot of little girls would love it!
