Hunted by Ednah Walters – Blog Tour Interview & Giveaway

Tour Schedule

Author Ednah Walters

I grew up reading Nancy Drew and Hardy boys mysteries, hence Stratemeyer influence, before I graduated to Mills & Boons (starting with Janet Daily’s Shutter the Sky) and the rest is history.

I enjoy good love stories, tingly mysteries and wondrous adventures. When I finished my college and decided to be a stay-at-home mother, I devoured books like they were going out of production, until reading just wasn’t enough. So I started to write.

I’ve written picture books, contemporary and romantic suspense, biracial/multicultural books, and finally YA fantasy. Awakened is the first book in The Guardian Legacy series. I’m working on book 2, tentatively named Betrayed. When I’m not writing, I do things with my family, five children or my darling husband of 18 years. I live in a picturesque valley in Utah, the setting for my series.

Interview

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Future, I’m a science fiction junkie

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
Ability to control time

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Caramel Cashews

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Yogurt

One food you would never eat?
Raw oysters

What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?
Nancy Drew

Is there a song you could list as the theme song for your book or any of your characters?
Eye of the Tiger

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Write from your heart and write every day. Don’t just talk or think about what you want to write, put it on paper or screen. Even crappy scene or chapter helps you to organize your ideas.

What is your favorite Quote?

Opinions are like belly button, everyone has one

How do you react to a bad review?
If it’s valid I take it to heart and I use it to my advantage. If it’s by a petty person, I just ignore it

If you were a bird, which one would you be?
Phoenix (you didn’t specify real or mythical?)

What do you do in your free time?
I spend time with my family or go to the gym

Pets? – childhood or adult
Dogs when I was a kid, but now I’m a cat person

Something your readers would never guess about you.
I was born in Africa and spent over half of my life there
Where do you write?
My last two daughters’ bedroom. They have the largest bedroom with a workstation that has several desk top computers. This way, I can do research as I write and also listen to something.

Do you have any weird or interesting rituals you do to get into writing mode or while you’re writing.
I like noise in the background when I write. I usually play music or have a TV series on Hulu or Netflix on. Right now I’m at a dance competition in Salt Lake and I’m doing this interview while watching dancers, LOL

Which of your characters is a portrayal of you?
Izzy

What drew you to writing this genre?
One, I also write adult romance and I get tired of writing adult situations. Teenagers look at things through fresh eyes and they’re not as jaded as adults. I love writing from their POV.

If you weren’t a human, what would you be?
Cyborg

Do your characters really talk to you?
Oh yes, they do. When they don’t, I put them in unnatural situations and force them to say things and the result is awful.

Are you for or against books being made into movies?
Against, which is why I haven’t watched a lot of these books-to-movies, but I’ve read the books. The few I’ve watched, I spend way too much time analyzing the movie, checking what they got right or wrong.

About how long does it take to write a book?
I’ve fast-drafted in 6 weeks. Most often it takes me 3-4 months.

What is your favorite part of the writing/publishing process?
When my book is fresh off the press and I hold it in my hand. Nothing smells like a new book.

Hunted by Ednah Walters

Bran and Lil may have escaped an attempt to lure Lil to the dark side, and recovered the contracts damned people signed with Bran when he was a soul collector, but someone forgot to tell them that no one switches sides or cancels contracts without consequences.

Hunted by an unknown but powerful enemy, Lil, Bran and the Guardians must seek help from unlikely sources to avert total annihilation of the Guardians. When they finally face their enemy, one of them may have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Praise

All in all, Hunted is a very enjoyable read, especially for those who enjoy angel/demon books. This one has everything you want in an angel book while still maintaining its own distinct feel. ~TeresaMaryRose

This series is addictive. ~Author Kate Kaynak

AMAZING! There is not enough words to describe how much I loved Hunted. Ednah Walters has outdid herself if that is even possible. ~Megan McDade
