Welcome to Author Richard Blunt
Publishing under a pen name to keep his personal life separate from his writing life, Richard Blunt was raised in the heart of Europe, in a nation where English is not the native language. Like his heroes, Richard blunt is nothing more than a shadow – a specter that whispers a story for everyone to hear.
If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Most definitely into the future. I already know the past, what’s the point going there?
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
A Yacht would be a good start, or alternatively a jetplane. Then I would opt for fuel… And for someone who can drive that thing.
If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I prefer Magic to superpowers, but if you are asking me for one… Maybe the ability to stop time.
If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Amelia Erhart. Just to say hi and bow before her for what she accomplished.
Night owl, or early bird?
Definitely the early bird. Best time for me is when everyone else is still sleeping.
One food you would never eat?
There is a lot that I would never eat. The beauty though is that you can feed all of that to a cow or a pig, and I will then eat the meat.
Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Because the story has a complexity that you seldomly find anywhere else, but it is still easy to read.
Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
This was part 3 of the series… Part 4 is next, and then we will see.
What inspired you to want to become a writer?
I never wanted to. The thing is… I love telling stories… So writing one down was just the logical next step.
If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?
Star Trek… Nice, beautiful, easy life
What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Never write for money or fame. Just write because you love to write.
What is your favorite Quote?
“Calm down.” That’s more than just a quote for me, it’s a motto.
Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
I can see part of myself in pretty much all my characters. None of them resembles me to a really big extent, but they all bear something from me in their personalities.
How do you react to a bad review?
Depends very much on the review. If there is good reason in it then I am grateful. The only way for me to learn is by knowing what I did wrong. Reviews on the other hand that are just bad without giving explanations are something I don’t like. I tend to ignore those.
What’s your favorite season/weather?
Summertime… I love spending time at a lake, lying in the sun.
