The moon was bright and full that night, bigger than I could ever even remember it.
Maybe because it was moving towards me…
After giving the worst violin recital of his life, and being laughed at by the entire school, the boy vows to never play music again. Later that night, when the moon swallows up his bedroom, it shares the secrets of being a true artist, helping the boy re-claim his self-confidence, overcome the pitfalls of perfectionism, and believe in his own dream.
Each of the five stories in The Night the Moon Ate My Room! is designed for young readers to experience the joy of self-discovery, valuable life lessons, and the adventure of turning their greatest dreams into reality.
This was a cute middle grade read with a great message about not giving up and following your dreams. It is a whimsical story of a boy who has decided to give up on his dream of being a violinist after a failed performance. That night he meets the moon who shares 5 stories with him of others who have succeed after failures. The stories inspired the boy to pursue his dreams and not give up after a disastrous performance.
The Night the Room Ate My Room! is a cute whimsical read appropriate for all middle grade children or as a read aloud to younger children. The author does school visits which I am sure would be quite entertaining for elementary age children.
