Interview:
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
A hunky guy, a supply of chocolate, and the Professor from Gilligan’s Island

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Because you’ll be thinking about it long after you’ve finished reading it.

Any other books in the works?
Yes! I’m working on a new book now about a fake medium in 1910 Baltimore who is visited by the ghost of a murdered man and gets pulled into helping to find his killer!

Goals for future projects?
I’m always researching a new idea while I’m writing my current book. I’ve been reading up on a little known group of women who were dropped into France during World War II to sabotage the German occupation efforts. They were trained in hand to hand combat, explosives, weapons, etc. They were parashooted directly into France and left on their own to carry out these amazing missions. It was believed that women would never be suspected of carrying out such danerous deeds of destruction!

What inspired you to want to become a writer?
Does being insane count? But seriously, I think I was born with the desire to write. I loved writing even when I was a child. By the time I was nineteen I knew I wanted to become a writer, with the encouragement of a very special English teacher who believed in me. Once, my grandpa sat me down after high school and asked me what I wanted to make of my life – what kind of work did I want to do? I told him I wanted to be a writer. I can still remember him staring at me, and then he said, “No, I mean, what do you really want to do to make a living?” I’m not making a living at being a writer, but some day, maybe…

What is your dream cast for your book?
Bonnie would be played by Charlize Theron and Glen would be Hugh Jackman – wouldn’t they make a yummy couple?

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Keep learning, keep growing, keep trying.

If you could be one of the Greek Gods, which would it be and why?
Apollo – the god of music, healing, the sun, prophecies, and poetry. Gotta keep in line with my innate need for creativity…

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Prince Edward Island, Canada. It’s incredibly beautiful, enjoys mild weather from a warm Atlantic airstream, is peaceful and serene, somewhat isolated, yet not far from larger cities.

What is your favorite Quote?
“It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” George Eliot

When you were little, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
A doctor and a model (neither one of which I possessed the necessary skills)

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
Oh, absolutely. A part of me is in all of them. We are such complex creatures that I find it easy to extract one or two aspects of my own personality and loan them to my characters.

If you were a super hero what would your kryptonite be?
A Krispey Kreme doughnut

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
A BMW X5 to drive to my new house on Prince Edward Island!

What do you do in your free time?
I don’t know, I never have any…I’m still trying to figure out how to accomplish something while I’m sleeping.
