Author Interview & Book Giveaway: Mercury in Retro Love by Janie Emaus

Welcome to Author Janie Emaus

I live in Southern California with my husband. When not busy with family and other work (the dark side of life) I like to exercise, read and read and read.
I’m a novice technocrat and of course love to write.
I have many past lives, which are revealed in my writing. Some good, some naughty. Always nice enough for Santa.

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Although I love all things sci fi, I’d love to travel back to the Covered Wagon Days. I’d love to experience traveling across the country, slowly, without all of today’s technology.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Mocha Almond Fudge from Baskin Robbins.

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Dr. Seuss

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It’s a fun, fast moving story about a love and astrology that will keep you entertained while learning a bit about the stars along the way.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I am currently working on a Young Adult Time Travel which takes place in 1968.
What inspired you to want to become a writer?
I think I was born with the desire to write. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been telling stories.
What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Keep writing. Believe in yourself. Don’t give up. Listen to advice from your mentors, but don’t lose your own voice.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
On any beach, so that I could fall asleep at night listening to the waves.
What is your favorite Quote?
“When there is no place left to fall, everything falls in place.”
When you were little, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
I’ve always wanted to be a writer. And when I finally “grow up” I hope I can say I’ve touched a few people with my stories.

What was your favorite children’s book?
The Wind In the Willow

If you were a bird, which one would you be?
A hummingbird.

If you were a super hero what would your kryptonite be?
The ability to time travel

What do you do in your free time?
Free time? What’s that? If I had any, I’d catch up on sleep.

If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?
The fun, funky, big-haired optimist

Favorite music?
Anything by The Beatles

Chocolate or Vanilla?

Regular or Diet?

Pizza or Pasta?
Sweet or Salty?
Salty, most definitely.
Cats or Dog?

Apples or Oranges?

Text or Talk?

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I’ve always wanted to be a song writer.
