Welcome to Author Hillary Peak

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?

I just finished a legal thriller entitled, “Justice Scorned.” My goal for that project? To be on the NY Times Bestseller list.

What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
Movie: The Hunger Games
Book: The follow-up to “A Discovery of Witches”

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
That’s hard because I would probably not do anything this frivolous, but I’ve promised myself an Hermes bag when I sell my first million books!

What TV show/movie/book do you watch/read that you’d be embarrassed to admit?
My FAVORITE TV show is Vampire Diaries!

Do you prefer a bunch of small gifts or one big expensive one?
I love lots of small gifts–it’s such fun to open them!

What is you favorite way to spend a rainy day?

Reading a good book–mind you, I have a toddler, so I actually spend the day entertaining her!

Text or Talk?
Depends–I love to talk to my friends on the phone, but sometimes it’s nice to text something quickly!

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?
I have no interest in meeting famous people–I’m going to add living or dead. I would want to eat with my dad and my grandparents one more time. I miss them everyday.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
I adore breakfast–frittatas are a favorite treat, but I can’t live without a cup of coffee.

What do you do in your free time?
I don’t have much of it, since I have a “real” (non-writing) job, a husband, a child and a dog. But with all that being said, I love to do yoga and shop.

Print or Ebook?

Chocolate or Vanilla?
Chocolate (as long as it is dark)

Regular or Diet?

I love Winter, but Summer is so much better with a kid!

Both, (but I love Harry more)

Shoes or Sandals?

Wings of Hope

The bond of a father and daughter is special. When Jules father asks her to come be stay with him because he’s terminally ill, she goes for the remarkable opportunity to really know her father. She never dreamed he had liberated a concentration camp, dealt cards to Bugsy Siegel or saved the life of a Black Panther. Wings of Hope takes you on a road trip through the memories of a man making peace with his life through his conversations with his daughter. Teaching her that death is sometimes the most heartbreakingly beautiful part of life. Hope is the last gift of a father to his daughter–the power to reach for her dreams.
