If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?

Definitely the past.  I would absolutely love to walk through the Royal Library at Alexandria and see those walls of scrolls.  And I would love to join the flappers in the U.S. during the ‘Roaring 20’s’ when life was all about fun, jazz and the celebration of a new beginning.  There are so many amazing historical times and figures I would like to visit that I would be in that Time Machine every hour on the hour.
What is one book everyone should read?

Stephen King’s, On Writing.  Whether you are a fan of him or his books, or not, this is truly a great work that offers inspiration.  Especially in the most difficult category of all when it comes to writing – dealing with rejection letters.  This is a man I truly admire who has a lot of incredible wisdom to share.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Rocky Road.  Not only is it delicious, but it’s also a theme for romance, life, work, raising children – heck, it fits everything.

Night owl, or early bird?

Early bird.  I am always up with my mammoth dog, Reuben, at 4:00 a.m., or before.  The coffee goes on, he goes out to bark at cats, the computer gets booted up, and by 9:00 p.m. all I want is my pillow.  Of course, when I’m working on a book this changes and my ‘awake’ period turns into a 24/7 thing until I pass out.

Pet Peeves?

Ill manners.  Seriously, I despise rude.  Please, thank you, you’re welcome, how are you?  These are things that don’t take a great deal of time to say, so it would be amazingly wonderful if people could go back to saying them.  Oh…and driving with your cell phone plastered to your ear.  It was frightening to read that cell phones have taken over drunk driving as the number one cause of death.  Hello?  Hang the thing up!

Skittles or M&Ms?

No question, M&M’s.  This is an American tradition.  And how could you ever choose anything over that little red and big yellow peanut M&M in those Christmas commercials?  They’re precious.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

It’s really good, and a completely different take on ‘angelic’ YA fiction.

If you could jump into a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?

I have to go to Hogwarts.  I mean…invisibility cloaks, wands, Professor Snape – this is THE school I always wanted to attend.  And since I know Harry saves us all anyway, I wouldn’t have to be worried about anything.

If you could be one of the Greek Gods, which would it be and why?

It has to be Athena.  I mean, she even put one over on Zeus and was born from his head fully-formed.  That had to knock the big guy out for awhile.  I love the fact that she was the goddess of wisdom and reason, yet she was also depicted with a sword and shield to defend and protect.  She could do it all.

What was your favorite children’s book?

Goodnight Moon. It was my mother’s favorite, she passed it on to me, and I passed that love onto my daughter.  It’s a family tradition.

If you could have a signed copy of any novel what would it be and why?

Pride & Prejudice.  Why?  Because even with all the romance that has occurred since Ms. Austen took her final bow, there has never even been a close runner-up to Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth.

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?

A hot tub.  My mom has osteoporosis and I would kill to be able to help her feel better.

What do you do in your free time?

What’s that?  LOL.  I spend as much time as humanly possible with my daughter.  Shelby is the coolest of the cool, and we are so lucky because we have a mother/daughter relationship that’s a whole lot of fun.

Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is….

The Shining.  God, I loved that book.

In your wildest dreams, which author would you love to co-author a book with?

Dean Koontz.  I think the man is beyond talented and has a sarcastic sense of humor that would perfectly match my own.

Until Next Time

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?
Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the ‘life’ they’ve been assigned. What they don’t realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.
When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz’s establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel’s path and a warrior’s plans.
From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that’s ripping them apart.
