Author Interview & Book Giveaway: Best Friend Thief by Laurel-Ann Dooley

Welcome to Author Laurel-Ann Dooley

Laurel-Ann Dooley writes books about girls, especially girls who are good friends. She also writes magazine, news, and online articles. But her favorite stories to tell are the ones inspired by all the girls she’s known.

If you were a superhero what would your name be?

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

Night owl, or early bird?
Night owl.

Skittles or M&Ms?
M&Ms, no contest.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It tells a universal story that anyone who is a girl or has a girl can relate to — feeling left behind when your best friend teams up with someone else.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I am currently writing the next book in the Between Best Friends series — its working title is Truth or Dare.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Each and every time a reader tells me that they really enjoyed Best Friend Thief, it makes me very happy. Actually, just having someone read what I have written – be it fiction, nonfiction, a book or an article — is always my reward in writing and being published. I am a storyteller and having readers to tell my stories to is the best reward there can be.

Favorite places to travel?
Pretty much anywhere — I love to roam. But I really like going to new places where I have never been before.

Favorite smell?
Sea air.

TV or Movies?

Pizza or Pasta?
Do I have to pick?

City or Country?

Spontaneity or Planning Ahead?
I am planning to be spontaneous any day now.

Shoes or Sandals?
I pretty much love any and all shoes! But given a choice as to which I’d rather wear, I’d have to go with sandals. (I grew up in South Florida — the Land of the Sandal!)

Text or Talk
Text. Written over spoken is always my motto.

Do you prefer a bunch of small gifts or one big expensive one?
How about a bunch of big expensive ones?

Best Friend Thief

Nathalie can’t believe it. Her best friend Reagan is ditching her to be BFFs with the class popular girl. They’d been best friends forever, but when Queen Blair decides that she wants Reagan to be her BFF, Reagan is gone in a flash.

Catherine and Isabel can’t believe it either. They’re best friends just like Nathalie and Reagan, and the four of them always hung out together — but now what? Will Nathalie get Reagan back? Does she even want her back? Will the group ever be the same again?

Confusion and hurt feelings take over — and that’s just the start of it!
