INTERVIEW:
If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Albert Einstein. I can’t imagine the conversation but just being in his presence would be amazing.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Love a really good cup of coffee first, and then a healthy oat bran muffin with cranberry and banana (I make them myself).

Night owl, or early bird?
Early bird, unless I wake up in the middle of the night and get a burst of energy.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It will amuse you and make you feel less alone.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
My novel, A Suitable Husband, will be published in the spring by Hearts Diary, a new ebook imprint that specializes in ‘edgy romance.’ The book takes place in Poland between the two World Wars. It’s about a young woman forced to choose between the older, responsible doctor brought by the matchmaker, and the daring young Zionist who can help her get to Palestine.

What inspired you to want to become a writer?
I love to get lost in a story.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
The responses from readers who like my work, and sometimes the reviews that point out things that I didn’t even know were there. Who knew I was so deep?

What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?
Nancy Drew mysteries, then historical fiction like Gone With the Wind.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
A South Sea island, where I imagine that life isn’t so rushed.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
I wanted to be a businesswoman, having meetings and running my dad’s business.

Who are your favorite authors of all time?
I love Ken Follett.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Have faith in yourself.

What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
The new season of Mad Men on TV. (I know that’s not quite what you asked, but I just read about it today).

What do you do in your free time?
Read, exercise. Google things. Play with the dog.

What’s your favorite season/weather?
Brisk fall days.

What is your guilty pleasure?
The Bachelor and Bachelorette shows (and then reading the “I hate Greenbeans” blog because it’s so funny).

What TV show/movie/book do you watch/read that you’d be embarrassed to admit?
(see above: Bachelor/Bachelorette)

Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is….
The Pillars of the Earth

In the Middle of Almost and Other Stories:

An engrossing collection of funny, poignant and bittersweet stories about busy young women who find men in all the wrong places (the garage attendant across the street, the stay-at-home dad in the playground, the younger man at the diner counter, the blind date) and discover something about themselves in the process.

These short stories and memoir were previously published in literary magazines and newspapers.
