Welcome to Author M. Allman.

M. Allman is a freelance writer and author based in Indiana. She is an author of both adult and children’s fiction.

One food you would never eat?

I would never eat Sushi. I like fish, but raw fish does not sound appealing to me.

Skittle or M&Ms

I’m an M&Ms gal. I love chocolate!

Pet Peeves?

It bothers me when people lick their finger while eating and make smacking and licking sounds.  That’s why we have napkins.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?

I have always wanted to be a writer and a kindergarten teacher. I write, but I never went to college to pursue a degree in education.

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?

Writing takes practice, just like anything else. If you are serious about getting your work published, don’t give up.

How do you react to a bad review?

I realize that not everyone will enjoy my writing, and everyone has their own opinions. A bad review can be helpful as well, because it can help me pinpoint weak areas in my writing.  I take it as a learning experience and respect the reviewers opinion.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

You should read The Peanut Buttor Tweatment because it is a fun read and it just may put a smile on your face.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?

I have second in the Hairington series scheduled for release in early November, Attack of the Dust Bunnies. In this book, Dad neglects cleaning the attic, so when he does go up to do so, he finds the attic is infested with dust bunnies. These little creatures aren’t dangerous, but they to cling to the hair, so it’s Dr. Follicle and the Dust Bunny Dispatch to the rescue!

The third book in the series, I’m not a Tangle, is scheduled for release in January 2012.  You can follow my blog to learn more about these books and future releases.

In your wildest dreams, which author would you love to co-author a book with?

It would have to be Ray Bradbury. He is my favorite author, and I love his short stories and novels.

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?

I would go into the past, but not too far. I like to watch shows from the 60s like Dick Van Dyke and Any Griffith. I would love to go back and live in that time period. People seem so happy and carefree, and the world seemed to be a different place.

The Peanut Butter Tweatment

The Hairingtons are little creatures made up of hair and lives in places like Creviceville and Dustycorners. In this first book, Bub get’s himself into a sticky situation because of his love for Grammy’s homemade gumballs.

Attack of the Dust Bunnies

Dad decides to finally clean the attic–a task he has put off or a while–and discovers the attic is overrun with dust bunnies. These dust bunnies are harmless, but they do attach themselves to hair. So, chaos ensues as the family calls in Dr. Follicle to rid Dad of the dust bunnies and the exterminator to rid the attack of dust bunnies. But don’t worry…no harm comes to the little dusty creatures.
