Interview:
If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Definitely the future. There’s been much more written about the past than I would ever have a chance to read, but there’s not much you can learn about the future without time travel!

If you were a superhero what would your name be?
Captain Tomorrow. Because I’m always putting things off until tomorrow.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
Invisibility, because you could get out of difficult or dangerous situations, secretly gather information, and play awesome practical jokes.

Night owl, or early bird?
Night owl. Early mornings are the enemy.

Skittles or M&Ms?
M&Ms, easily.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It’s a fun book about teenagers who steal fairy instruments and become rock stars (and, of course, there are consequences for trying to take shortcuts to success).

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I’m currently writing the second book in the fairy series. There will be several, because I keep getting more ideas and they’re incredibly fun to write.

If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world., which would it be?
Probably the Harry Potter books – that’s a fun world!

Is there a song you could list as the theme song for your book or any of your characters?
In Fairy Metal Thunder, Erin’s theme would be “She’s a Rainbow” by the Rolling Stones.

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Read omnivorously and write daily.

What is your favorite Quote?
“The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but right through every human heart.” – Alexander Solzhenitsyn

If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play the lead role and why?
Jeff Bridges, because everyone says I look and talk like him.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Low expectations are the road to happiness.

What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
Hollowmen by Amanda Hocking.

What was your favorite children’s book?
Thief of Always by Clive Barker.

If you were a bird, which one would you be?
A seagull. I love the ocean.

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
A fence for the dogs. Very high priority.

Fairy Metal Thunder by J.L. Bryan

The Assorted Zebras are a teenage garage band in Wisconsin with no fans and no gigs. The guitarist, Jason, is in love with the leader singer, Erin, and tries to impress her by stealing enchanted musical instruments from the fairy world.
The new instruments make them a huge overnight success, but the band members aren’t exactly ready for fame, fortune, or the supernatural creatures sent by the fairies to track them down.
