Author Interview & Ebook Giveaway: Radiant Desire by Inara Scott

Welcome to Author Inara Scott.

Bio:

Inara Scott grew up in the winter wonderland of Buffalo, NY. Consequently, she spent much of her childhood complaining about being cold. To spare the world her whining, she fled the cold climate and eventually wound up in the Pacific NW. She loves it there — they get occasional snow, tons of rain in the winter, and lots of sun in the summer. The forests are huge, and the old Douglas Fir trees and thick ferns make you think you’ve wandered into a fairy tale. She would be surprised if there weren’t fairies and elves living there. Seriously. She loves to hike, canoe, and play outside. She is addicted to yoga. She has a deep affinity for water (she used to believe she could learn to breathe underwater, if she stayed down there long enough). Inara is a geek through and through. She fears deep, intellectual books and loves romance and fantasies. She listens to cheesy, happy music. When she was in high school, her friends considered having a clothing intervention for her because she insisted on making her own clothes and shopping at thrift stores. Somehow, she survived.

Interview:

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

I would love to fly. I’ve never wanted to read anyone’s thoughts, see the future, or be invisible — but I would love to fly!
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

I try not to discriminate, because I do believe ice cream is the world’s most perfect food. When I’m looking for sheer debauchery, I go for the cookie dough. When I want something a little lighter, I really enjoy a good strawberry or a fresh fruit gelato.
What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

I adore breakfast, mostly because I’m a coffee addict and I can’t wait to taste that first sip. But I also fantasize about omelettes. My favorite is a fluffy little number full of veggies.
Night owl, or early bird?

Definitely early. I’ve never been able to stay up late. Even in college, I’d be up at 5AM to study.
One food you would never eat?

Passion fruit. Worst migraine I ever had was triggered by passion fruit. I stay VERY FAR AWAY from it now.
Pet Peeves?

People who are mean.
Skittles or M&Ms?

Neither. Swedish fish.
Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

Naughty faeries, true love, redemption, cafe cubano, and happily every after. What more could you want in a book?
Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.

I had a young girl tell me that she doesn’t normally like to read because she’s dyslexic and it takes her a long time and is frustrating. But she read my first book (a young adult novel) and loved it, and was now looking for other books she might enjoy as well. The thought that I might have helped create a reader is incredibly inspiring.
If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?

Anne McCaffrey’s Pern. I want to impress a dragon. I like to think my little Havanese dog is like one of the dragons of Pern, just a lot smaller. And he doesn’t actually talk in my head.
What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?

See above — everything by Anne McCaffrey, but especially the first book in the Dragonriders of Pern series, Dragonflight.
What do you do in your free time?

I waste a lot of time on the internet, that’s for sure. I also try to keep up my yoga practice.
What’s your favorite season/weather?

I love cool, crisp fall days. I also love pumpkin donuts. So I think my favorite MUST be fall. 🙂

Radiant Desire:

The object of every man’s fantasy just lost her wings…
Kaia Verde is one of the four Faerie Handmaids of Zafira, Queen of the Fey. To redress an ancient wrong done to Zafira by a human king, the Handmaids make sport of mortal men, seducing and humiliating them. When Kaia sets out to seduce Garrett Jameson, but ends up being the one surrendering to pleasure, Zafira is furious. Kaia’s punishment is simple: make Garrett fall in love with her by the summer solstice, then break his heart, or face eternity without her wings or her soul. To make the task harder, Zafira tells Kaia she cannot use her faerie magic or charm to lure Garrett into her bed.
…and now she’s losing her heart…
Kaia thinks her task will be relatively easy—as a faerie, she understands lust, and can love be much different? But once she is living among the humans, Kaia discovers the race she once disparaged is far more complex and beautiful than she imagined. She learns before she can break Garrett’s heart, she must find a way to heal it. And eventually, discovers that losing her wings may be a far easier price to pay than losing her heart.
