Interview:

Night owl, or early bird?
I suppose more of a night owl. I tend to get terrible bouts of insomnia. Thankfully this provides a good time to plot!

Skittles or M&Ms?
M&M’s all the way. Being a chocoholic runs in my family.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Action, romance, and robots, what’s not to like?

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I’m currently wrapping up my Fall of Angel’s trilogy which releases end of next month. I am currently plotting a YA contemporary for my next book and a hi-tech sci-fi for the one after that!

What is your dream cast for your book?
That would be Gillian Zinser for Eve, Wentworth Miller for Avian, and Matt Lanter for West!

What is your favorite Quote?
My favorite writing quote is “It is impossible to discourage the real writers. They don’t give a damn what you say, they’re going to write.” -Sinclair Lewis

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
There’s a little bit of myself in each of my characters. Eve is stubborn and always thinks she’s right. Avian is always a little too serious. West can’t let things go. I think that’s part of how you make a character come to life, you have to breathe a bit of yourself into them.

What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
It doesn’t come out until next year but I can’t wait for Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake. Anna Dressed in Blood was FANTASTIC!

How do you react to a bad review?
Well you NEVER comment back, nothing good can come of that. So I guess you feel sad for a second, and then go and read a positive review instead 😉

What do you do in your free time?
Free time? What’s that? lol Even though I am insanely busy, I am one of those really, really lucky people who gets to do what she loves for a living. Obviously I LOVE to write, I love the graphic design work I do. And any other moment I have I get to spend with my two amazing kids and husband. I really am one of the luckiest people!

Give us a glimpse into a typical day in your day starting when you wake up till you lie down again.
Wake up at 6:30, if I’m awake enough, head to the gym. Come home, shower and get the kids ready for the day. Take 4 year old to preschool. Come home, get the 2 year old entertained with something, write until noon. Pick up 4 year old, lunch, playtime. 2 year old naps at 1, work on some graphic design stuff while 4 year old draws at the desk next to me. Playtime and housework till dinner time at 6. Kids bedtime at 7:30. If I still have any energy after that write for another hour, watch a TV show with the husband, and collapse into bed around 10:30. Whew!

Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is….
Harry Potter! haha What a fantastic story!

Eden by Keary Taylor

Eve knew the stories of the Fall, of a time before she wandered into the colony of Eden, unable to recall anything but her name. She’s seen the aftermath of the technology that infused human DNA with cybernetic matter, able to grow new organs and limbs, how it evolved out of control. The machine took over and the soul vanished. A world quickly losing its humanity isn’t just a story to her though. At eighteen, this world is Eve’s reality.

In their Fallen world, love feels like a selfish luxury, but not understanding what it is makes it difficult to choose between West, who makes her feel alive but keeps too many secrets, and Avian, who has always been there for her, but is seven years her senior.

The technology wants to spread and it won’t stop until there is no new flesh to assimilate. With only two percent of the human population left, mankind is on the brink of extinction. While fighting to keep Eden alive, Eve will discover that being human is about what you will do for those you love, not what your insides may be made of. And even if it gets you killed, love is always what separates them from the Fallen.
