Interview:

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future? Interesting question, since my books are about time travel. I guess I’ve been selfish in my thinking, as I am writing about the places I would like to go back in time to. I take myself back, through research and understanding of that time period, and then I put myself in Alex’s (the main character) place. I imagine being there…what it would look like, smell like, feel like.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
French fries, toothbrush and a bed

What is one book everyone should read?
If you were a superhero what would your name be?

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
Ability to read minds.

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Jesus

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

French toast…gee, there is a french theme here.

Night owl, or early bird?
Night owl..wishing to be an early bird

One food you would never eat?

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It’s a good read.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Zac Efron following me on Twitter. That happened, but it’s not the most rewarding. I would say when I heard that I was on a high school summer reading list. That was a superior day.

If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?
To Kill A Mockingbird

What is your dream cast for your book?
Zac Efron, Matthew McConnehey, Paul Walker, Theresa Palmer…I want to play the waitress in the first book.

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Don’t give up. It’s really hard to become a published author and easy to get frustrated and quit. But don’t. And just believe in your work.

If you could choose only one time period and place to live, when and where would you live and why?
1950’s and be a stay at home wife with my little apron and cute little suburb house. Why? I think I was made for a simpler time when cell phones and laptops were a vision of the future. Life was simpler back then. Focus was on family.

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
Others say I am Alex…though I don’t see it.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Be true to yourself. Be honest with yourself.

Nickname?
Sugar Bear

How do you react to a bad review?
With an open mind and an objectivity about how to take their view point.

If you were a super hero what would your kryptonite be?
Raisins. I really don’t care for them.

If you could have a signed copy of any novel what would it be and why?
The bible. John, Mark, etc. have them sign it. Wow, wouldn’t that be something?

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
I would pay off my mortgage. Boy that’s one bill that seems to drain all the money out! For fun, I think I would buy a really nice ring. Something that seems like an actual “heirloom”.

What do you do in your free time?
Free time, what free time? Hee hee!!

It’s stranger than fiction!

Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is….
Harry Potter. Who wouldn’t wish that??

Favorite music?
Strange, but I listen to the 40’s now. It takes me back in time.

In your wildest dreams, which author would you love to co-author a book with?
JK Rowling.
