Author Interview & Ebook Giveaway: Two Lives… One Diary by J.M. Array

Wlecome to Author JM Array

Bio:
I am a 21 year old from Puerto Rico. I am currently in College studying Computer Science. I should graduate by May 2012. My dream job would be to work at Google or Microsoft. That’s one of my dreams. Cause another one would be to be able to work full time from my home, be it writing or doing multiple other projects, or maybe a combination of both.

Right now I am trying to get my writing career started. I love writing and when I do, the whole world around me stops and I get emerged within the story to such a point that the story just writes itself, it is like a world of its own.

Interview:

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Definitely to the future. I am a fan of technology, so see the technology of 20-40 years in the future would be just amazing. Then again, if I have to come back I would be depressed with what I have in my present time after experiencing such a beauty (hopefully a beauty).

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?
Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Derek Jeter, Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde

What is one book everyone should read?
Mine? Nah just kidding (sort of). I think one of my top favorite books of all time is: The Time Traveler’s Wife

If you were a superhero what would your name be?
You know, superhero names aren’t that creative. So I will follow the trend and say: TimeMan

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
Time Manipulation (be it to time travel or to just stop it)

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Chocolate 🙂

Night owl, or early bird?
Night Owl by far.

Skittles or M&Ms?
M&Ms. Chocolate lover here!

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
If you have been looking for a unique and fast read, then this is it.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I am actually re-writing a book I wrote 4 years ago. We will see how that one goes. I also have an idea for a sequel to that one, so hopefully I can develop it. Apart from that, I have a few other ideas I want to develop. My ultimate goal would be for one of the books to be made into a movie.

What inspired you to want to become a writer?
I am always coming up with crazy ideas. They just pop out of no where. And one day I just decided I wanted to put in paper. Tell a story based in that idea. And that’s how I started :). It gets addictive after that.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Definitely the reaction from those that have read it. Seeing how much they have actually enjoyed it, is pretty darn rewarding.

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Write, write and write. That’s the only way that you are going to improve and that’s the only way you are going to get your stuff out there. Don’t be afraid to break the mold either. Do something new and different. See what happens!

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
New York City, New York…aka Manhattan :). I am a hardcore Yankee fan plus I just love that city!

What is your favorite Quote?
“That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying”

When you were little, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
I wanted to be a professional baseball player. The yankees second baseman!

Who are your favorite authors of all time?
Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Dan Brown

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
Yeah, from Two Lives…One Diary, I can see myself as Robert. He is basically me actually.

What’s the craziest writing idea you’ve had?
This is an interesting question…I could tell you, but I would probably have to kill you so you don’t steal it :P.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Look both sides when crossing the street. No but really, something my mother has always told me is to just follow my dream, to trust myself against everything and just fight for what I want.

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
Right now? Probably an iPad 2 and/or a Macbook Pro.

What do you do in your free time?
Hang out with my friends, watch movies/tv shows, read a lot in the internet, write, and sleep.

In your wildest dreams, which author would you love to co-author a book with?
Dan Brown definitely. His ability to research and mix that which is fiction with what isn’t, is just amazing. Leaves you wondering…I love leaving readers wondering.
