Author Interview & Book Giveaway: 202 Good Clean Jokes for Kids by Jessica Van Vleet

Welcome to Jessica Van Vleet, author of 202 Good Clean Jokes for Kids:

“I have written several children’s books. The first to be published is “202 Good Clean Jokes for Kids”. I am really proud to have written something that I know all children will be able to enjoy. As the mother of five children aged 6 to 15, I know the importance of reading. Especially books that you don’t have to think twice about. No worrying that the language or subjects are inappropriate! You can be sure that this book is something you will feel good about buying for your children.”

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Definitely the past. My husband and I always say that we were born in the wrong century. I am a big fan of historical fiction. Any time in the 1800’s. When the men were men and the women were Ladies.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Butter Pecan. Yum!

Night owl, or early bird?
Neither! LOL But I would say, I find myself up late most nights.

One food you would never eat?
Tongue. I don’t want to taste anything that can taste me back.

Pet Peeves?
Loud chewers.

Skittles or M&Ms?
M&M’s Crunch. They made them a while ago and they stopped making them in the US. I am a dork and looked it up on line. (FYI, they should be selling them again sometime next year.)

Favortie Cartoon?
Spongebob SquarePants. I DVR it then my 6 year old and I watch it every night before bed.

If you could be one of the Greek Gods, which would it be, male or female, doesn’t matter and why?
How can I chose just one? Can I mix Athena’s smarts and Aphrodite’s beauty?

What is your favorite book that has been made into a movie?
Twilight. Even though the movie was not as good as it could be, I was so excited.

What do you do when you are in-between books?
I am addicted to The Sims 3.

Where is your favorite place to read/write?
In bed. I like to cuddle up with my big fluffy blanket and read. When I write, it is mostly in a notebook, and then I transfer it to my computer later.

If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?
Harry Potter! Who wouldn’t want to be able to do magic? I am still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts. Of course, I wouldn’t want to be involved with the whole Voldemort ordeal. Just the good parts.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Coca-Cola & Beef Stroganoff. My kids tell me that in my person heaven, the clouds would be made of beef stroganoff.

What TV show/movie/book do you watch/read that you’d be embarrassed to admit?
Teen Mom or Sister Wives. They are train wrecks. I know I should look away, but I can’t help it.

Thank you Jessica for taking the time for an interview.
