Author Interview and Book Giveaway: The Miracle of Rain by Sherry Rossman

Welcome to author Sherry Rossman!

Rabbits, javelina, snakes, skunks and the occasional raccoon were all a large part of my childhood where I grew up in the small town of Rimrock, Arizona. I used to roam the countryside with these critters, my two older brothers and a neighbor friend, which is where my imagination had plenty of space and inspiration to bloom.
I currently live in Prescott Valley, Arizona with my husband, two children and three cats.

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
I would travel back to the past. I would love to visit the late 1800’s to early 1900’s where so much change and innovation took place.

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?
Charles Dickens, Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller, Jesus and Queen Esther( from the book of Esther).

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
My bible, fresh water and garden seeds.

What is one book everyone should read?
The Lord of the Flies. Everyone should be aware of the devastation of society without boundaries.

If you were a superhero what would your name be?

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
The speed of light

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Either Rocky Road or Mint Chip

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Bacon and hash browns! But it’s usually Raisin Bran and yogurt.

What’s your favorite music genre? Favorite artist? Song?
I love music of all kinds, although I’m not into rap. U2, Francesca Battistelli, and John Legend are among my favorites.

Is there anything you need in order to write? (ie Chocolate, quiet, music)
Quiet! And a cup of tea helps.

Night owl, or early bird?
Night Owl by nature. Early bird by necessity.

One food you would never eat?
Raw fish. Why sushi is so appealing to many people, I will never understand.

Favorite Cartoon?
My favorite cartoon is Little Einsteins. My favorite cartoon strip is Get Fuzzy.

What is your favorite book that has been made into a movie?
Little Women. Love the book, the movie(s) and everything about it. Also, Pillars of the Earth. Brilliant.

What do you do when you are in-between books?
Anymore, most of my time is spent with my kids, but if I get the time, I love to paint.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Children and Parents alike should read my book because it’s a reminder of the hidden blessings behind the things we fear.

What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?
Little Women. I also loved the Anne of Green Gables series.

How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
With a little bouncing, hugging and hopefulness.
