#BIR2010 – Book Giveaway: Luck of the Draw by Rachael Renee Anderson + Interview

Once in a while I meet and associate with an author who just stands out and leaves a lasting impression on me.  Rachael Renee Anderson is one such author.  I have loved the interactions I have had with her.  She is positive, kind and grateful.  I’m thrilled to have her here as part of the Best of 2010.

Interview:

If you could trade your life for that of a fictional character, who would that character be?
Anne Shirley of Green Gables. She’s smart, imaginative, assertive, and Gilbert is rather dreamy. Besides, could you imagine a more perfect place to live?

What is the last movie you saw?
Secretariat–and it was excellent, by the way.

If you could re-write the ending to a movie, which one and why?
The Titanic. Yes, I realize it’s based on a true story, but honestly, could there be a more depressing ending? I’d change it so that everyone lived–at least all of the people I liked. Then maybe I might actually like the movie.

If you could jump into any painting which one would it be?
Any of Thomas Kinkade’s. So lovely, quaint, and gorgeous.

If you were a bird, which one would you be?
If it would help me conquer my fear of heights, I’m all over this one. A bald eagle, maybe? They’re majestic, beautiful, commanding, and protected. At least no one would be allowed to hunt me.

Favorite Cartoon?
Phineas and Ferb, hands down. It’s adorable, brilliant, and hilarious.

If you could choose only one time period and place to live, when and where would you live and why?
In a fictional world, where weeds don’t grow, kids don’t fight, laundry and food prepare themselves, politicians are all honest and good, there’s no speed limit, and the climate and scenery is comparable to Hawaii. Yes, that sounds about right.

Luck of the Draw by Rachael Renee Anderson
Four weeks. Three roommates. Two dates each.

Brighton Andrews has never had a problem getting a girl to go out with him. So when his friends dare him to ask out three roommates at the same time, he figures this will be the easiest bet he’ll ever win–even with the added clause that the girls can’t find out they’re all dating the same guy. And with a whole month free from laundry at stake, who could resist?

Of course, that’s before he meets the girls.

Rachael Renee Anderson’s charming Luck of the Draw puts a hilarious twist on a modern-day love story. Fast-paced, witty, and full of fun, the odds are stacked that this is one book you won’t be able to put down.

Brighton Andrews has no idea what he is in for when he agrees to a “laundry bet” with his roommates. Why not agree to the bet? It means he’ll finally have a reason to ask out Katherine, the cute girl he’s seen at the library. All he has to do is date 2 of her roommates at the same time and he’s free from laundry for a month. How hard can it be?
